Thoughts of the Day
- What's the story with fondue? Is it coming back? Buck and Benita have both blogged on their dipping experiences of late. Also, Buck recently got Super Monkey Ball, which means he can partake in my favorite video game of all time: Monkey Bowling!
- In other news from my blogosphere, Cady is dealing with French people and professors who ask shoeshiners to polish their hearts. She also points to an interesting interactive infographic over the the Wash Post.
- Rachael took the man to his first bar mitzvah, who "thought it was like a rap show with so many people up on the bima." Never thought of it that way, but he's right.
- Sabrina B. knits a lot.
- Richard takes Grover Norquist to task for something he said, like, three months ago. It was pretty bad, I guess. And I'll take this opportunity to tell you that Terry Gross rocks. Richard, despite my best efforts, may still need a lesson in how to make text wrap around your images.
Joe says something to Dante about Jewish wine. He also helped Phil buy a new monitor. He's wrong about LCDs, though. Marc just got one and it kicks ass. And it takes up 1/4 of the space. Joe says, "... the color fidelity on those things is for shit." Maybe for people who do print design for a living, Joe. But you or Phil or me or anyone else who, at most, fucks around with graphic design, don't need a 290-lb. CRT taking up space when you can afford a goddamn flat panel.
- Speaking of Phil, he is one handsome fellow, but he looks nothing like the rest of his family. That's him at right. Also, don't take him to the Statue of Liberty. He'll just make faces at you. He is looking forward to the "obnoxious amounts of sex" he plans on having when he gets back to Ripon, and he can't wait to violate Conquistador Pablo Panteloons.
- Saw two movies this weekend with Esther. The Company had lots of very amazing ballet but not much plot. Along Came Polly was cute, but same old shit for Ben Stiller.
That's all for now. Out.
All right already! I get the message! I read your entry in the user group & I guess I thought that the text abutting the photos wasn't too egregious. BUt you do have a point that adding the extra space would make the display more attractive & that's important.
I've added that h & v spaces to my last post. I'll try to add it to previous ones as well as time permits. Thanks for taking the time to give me this tip.

Hey, I fondue too! Loren and I got a set for $10 at Targhetto. Good times... we followed the recipe on the box. It's perfect man food: minimal utensils, the gooier the better, and easy clean up. Plus, it's so damn sexy.

I have to comment in my own defense...first and foremost, the monitor was for ME, 'cause I bought Phil's G4 off him. Phil may be able to afford a LCD monitor, but I'm going to have a hell of a time paying off the CRT as it is. Furthermore, accurate color is something that I really do want to be a stickler about...mostly because that G4 is also going to be used for production of Parallax, and because, despite the fact that I'm not a graphics professional, I do have paying gigs once in a great while for small ad layouts and stuff, and since LCD's tend to be much less saturated and have a much less consistent color temperature than CRT's, I still can't justify them in full. I like them, if I had the cash for a good one, I'd think about it. But until I make as much money as Rob, I'll have to settle for the heavier, cheaper option.
